PerfeCTa® Universal PCR Primer
The PerfeCTa Universal PCR Primer has been designed and validated to work specifically with PerfeCTa MicroRNA Assays and PerfeCTa SYBR Green SuperMix using microRNA cDNA produced using the qScript MicroRNA cDNA Synthesis Kit as template (see the relevant products section below).
MicroRNAs are not polyadenylated in nature. With the qScript MicroRNA cDNA Synthesis Kit miRNAs are polyadenylated in a poly(A) polymerase reaction. qScript Reverse Transcriptase and other necessary reagents for cDNA synthesis are subsequently added to convert the poly(A) tailed miRNAs into cDNA using an oligo-dT adapter primer. The adapter primer has a unique sequence at its 5′ end which allows amplification of cDNAs in real-time qRT-PCR reactions.
Individual microRNAs are quantitated in real-time qRT-PCR amplification reactions using the PerfeCTa microRNA Assays along with the PerfeCTa Universal PCR Primer (specific to the unique sequence of the oligo-dT adapter primer) and the PerfeCTa SYBR Green SuperMix family of products. The pre-designed and validated PerfeCTa MicroRNA Assays provide maximum sensitivity and specificity in qRT-PCR amplifications. Please browse our list of available microRNA assays.
Storage conditions
The PerfeCTa Universal PCR Primer is stable for > one year when stored at +4°C.
